* Notes about these prices:
  • They are not based on catalogue values but on current dealer and auction listings. The reason for this is that catalogues tend to over-value stamps.
  • They are average prices. The actual value of your stamp may be slightly above or below the listed value, depending on the overall condition of your stamp. Use these prices as a guide to determine the approximate value of your stamps.

About Stamp

Supplementing the King George V Ordinary Issue of 1935, a new series of postage due stamps was issued in that year. The stamps were released on various dates. The design and colour were similar in general style to that of previous Canadian postage due stamp issues. This was the first postage due issue in an upright design. In 1948 the Post Office Department issued a 5-cent postage due stamp to meet the requirements in connection with the 5-cent business reply envelopes which were being used more and more extensively. A design from a drawing. Across the top of the design is the word "Canada," below this are the words, "Postage Due." The numeral value is enclosed in a framework; beneath this are the words "Cents" and "A Percevoir."
