Arthur Sicard of Montreal sold his first snowblower to Outremont in 1927. His innovative design allowed a single operator to clear and throw snow over 30 metres or directly into a dumptruck, whether it was hard, soft or packed down. The self-propelled Sicard snowblower featured four basic pars: a Four Wheel Drive truck chassis and motor, a snow collection unit; a blower unit with two adjustable chutes; and a separate snowblower motor.
