They are not based on catalogue values but on current dealer and auction listings. The reason for this is that catalogues tend to over-value stamps.
They are average prices. The actual value of your stamp may be slightly above or below the listed value, depending on the overall condition of your stamp. Use these prices as a guide to determine the approximate value of your stamps.

A new 34¢ stamp issue features a profile of Queen Elizabeth II. Princess Elizabeth Alexandra Mary of Windsor was born on 21 April 1926. As the royal family's oldest child, she succeeded to the throne on the death of her father, King George VI, in 1952. Steel engraving, the traditional printing technique, has been combined with photogravure in the design of a new engraved version of the stamp bearing the Queen's portrait. Robert Couture of Ottawa engraved the portrait of Her Majesty after a bas-relief by Jaroslav Huta, a Toronto sculptor and medal maker. Raymond Bellemare of Montreal designed the stamp.
